Envi̇ronmental And Soci̇al Responsi̇bi̇li̇ty Manager

Our client is prominent mining and metallurgy company operating in 8 different countries. Now we are looking for a senior Environmental and Social Responsibility Manager. Although, it is an HQ position the position requires strong field experience and we seek a candidate who has no barrier to travel to mine and metallurgical sites both in Turkey and abroad.

Qualifications:

  • To have a minimum of 15 years of total experience
  • Preferably to have 5-7 years of experience in HESSR management.
  • To have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in related operations (mining, metal, ferroalloys, etc.).
  • English is a must, and Russian is a plus.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH, and other certificates is plus.
  • To have leadership and management skills.
  • To have a working knowledge of local regulations, as well as other International Environmental and Health and Safety Laws & Standards (including but not limited to; Environmental & Social Policies of creditors (such as EBRD, IFC etc.), Best Available Techniques (BATs), etc.).
  • To have experience in E&S due diligences.
  • Have the ability to balance and prioritize multiple & multidiscipline projects.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • To have active organization and time management skills.
  • To have a high leadership skill such as influencing, impact on others, relationship building, performance coaching, etc.

Job Description

  • Reports directly to the groups' Health, Safety, Environment & Social Responsibility (HESSR) Director.
  • Conducts & lead Environmental Management and Social Responsibility including related Sustainability/Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) activities in line with related ISO, GRI and other international standards.
  • Defines & develops Environmental Management and Social Responsibility including related Sustainability/ESG strategies/programs and submits them to the HESSR Director for approval.
  • Define Environmental Management and Social Responsibility including related Sustainability/ESG strategic actions and targets, announce them to the internal & external stakeholders.
  • Support & follow up the integration of Sustainability/ESG model into the HESSR management system for entire group.
  • Support the Sustainability/ESG studies and defined related tasks for HQ and subsidiaries.
  • Monitors and controls whether HESSR, Sustainability/ESG works are carried out at sites and makes supervision if necessary.

To act as a Business Partner;

  • For all sites/subsidiaries with regards to Environmental & Social Responsibility (including sustainability/ESG) aspects, needs and issues.
  • As well as for the defined sites/subsidiaries with regards to HESSR management system aspects, needs and issues.
